3. Check expiration date. If medication is expired, cloudy, empty, or malfunctioning, do not use. 4. Remove cap and select an injection site (side of thigh or shoulder). Take care not to touch either end of the Epi-Pen.

5. Push firmly against site and hold for 10 seconds.

6. The dosage for the Adult Epi-Pen is 0.3mg; The dosage for the Pediatric Epi-Pen is 0.15mg, and should be used on children under 12 years or under 100 pounds.
