Pediatric Multiple Trauma Protocol
Remove rings, bracelets, any other constricting items, and clothes where applicable
Pediatric Airway Protocol
S/S of shock or BSA >20% Fluid Bolus 20mL/kg
Pediatric IV/IO
Cardiac Monitor
Chemical
Thermal
Powder
Apply dry sterile dressings
Flush with copious water
Brush off powder
Evaluate for other injuries
Transport to Pediatric Burn Center if: Burns are complicated by other injuries Electrical burns Burns involving face, airway, hands, feet, or perineum Inhalation injuries Full thickness BSA >10% Partial thickness BSA >20%
If burn area is >10% body surface area or involves face or airway, carefully assess for stridor, singed eyebrows and hair, and respiratory distress
